"We know your size." That is the motto of Samuel Koch's Townshop on the Upper West Side. The earliest records from the business date back to 1897 when Townshop was open for 7 days a week which for a Jewish merchant, was rare. The first week's business brought in $47.45. Legend has it Samuel Koch kept a miniature pink torah scroll in a fire proof metal box to chant from when he worked the Sabbath. His grandson, Danny Koch, says he was tapped by his grandmother Selma to be the heir to the thrown. Selma's obituary in the New York Times read, "Famed brazere maven Selma Koch died today, she was 95 and a 34B.
