Michael Tager got his start in the toy and hobby industry during the Depression when selling toy trains gave a steady income. He started as a sales representative for American Tortoise, a German owned company who sold miniature trains and turtle toys. He started manufacturing model trains under his own company named Model Power and was the first person to manufacture a heavy duty quality locomotive toy train. "It did not matter what hour of the night, if he needed to speak to a client in China or Japan, he'd get it done," says Jonathan Tager, Michael's grandson. "He wanted his legacy to be leaving the business in good hands with family. His two favorite things were family and business."
